RESIDENT UPDATE IN REGARD TO COVID-19;

It is a very challenging time for us all, as we balance the government regulations, safety and social responsibilities of our business for you, and our Access Realty staff members. Our current circumstances only call for adaptability – agility – strength and UNITY!

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has thrust our community into unknown territory/ We recognize this is a frightening time and that many in our community have faced both health and economic impacts. We are here to try and help as best we can. The last thing anyone wants is to lose a safe place to call home. Unfortunately, there has been misinformation circulating online and in the media about what the current crisis means for those who rent their home. Our hope is to eliminate any confusion.

 

Although the state has stopped evictions at this time, this does not mean that rent is not still due and that evictions cannot be posted once this is over. We want to work with our tenants as best we can and we can get through this difficult time together. So, if you have suffered a job loss or other substantial loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are unable to pay rent during the normal grace period of 1st-5th,  we encourage you to notify us as soon as possible and we ask that you please provide us with proof of unemployment or a deduction of hours, so we can discuss with your owner and make them aware. We urge any residents that have suffered a financial loss to please file for unemployment, and/or look into government assistance. Please keep Access Realty staff in the loop as to what steps you are taking in order to get your rents paid. If your unemployment has run out, and no government assistance comes to fruition, then please call us at the office as soon as possible so we can help you go over your options. Communication is key and urgent. If you are not currently facing a COVID-19 related hardship, please continue to pay rent as usual. As employers, we want to ensure we are able to continue to support the Access Realty personnel and staff who work every day to provide essential services to all of our Access residents, and we want to ensure owners that have mortgages, taxes, insurance, and maintenance fees, still have the means to pay their payments as well.  We are all in this together, and if we work together, we can weather this storm.

 

Access Realty will be working with a locked doors policy during this time until further notice. We will still remain open by phone and email ONLY! We also ask that all residents please bear with our staff in regard to maintenance as many vendors have closed their doors at this time. We are asking that tenants please submit non-emergency issues through the online tenant portal and ONLY CALL IN MAINTENANCE EMERGENCIES.  If it is a major emergency that has put your health or safety at risk please call 911. Our maintenance emergency line remains open during non-business hours.

 

Residents must pay rent in the following ways until further notice;

  • ONLINE: Residents can pay FREE of charge by clicking on the orange button above and logging into your “resident web portal”, and using your checking and routing number! Debit/credit will be subject to a convenience fee. If you have not yet set this up you can contact our office and request a kink be sent.
  • MAIL SLOT: Residents can slip payments through our mail slot on the front door. (Must be in a sealed envelope with your name/address on front) personal check, cashiers check, or money orders only!
  • MAIL IN: Residents can mail in payments as well, (Must have name/address on payment).

 

This is a rapidly changing time for everyone, tenants and landlords alike and we will continue to monitor the economic landscape in the coming weeks and months.
